Neutron Star Gazing
By Matt Walker

In the space portion of the Battle of Endor, there were many types of capital ships used. Some were more powerful and familiar than others. The Imperial II-Class Star Destroyer and the Mon Calamari Cruisers were two such vessels. However, there were some that weren't as recognized, which brings us to the subject of this week's preview for the upcoming Battle of Endor expansion.

The fourteenth card to be revealed to the public is the Neutron Star-Class Cruiser.

This space unit is a Neutral capital ship, so it can be used by both the Dark and the Light side. For the relatively small cost of 3 build points, you get a Space unit with 40 speed, 6 power, and 6 health. However, this unit has one drawback. Whenever it is damaged you must put one additional damage counter on it, so if it takes a few hits, it's toast. Fortunately, there is a way you can use this disability to your advantage.

The nature of the Neutron Star-Class Cruiser's weakness makes it perfect for an intercepting Space arena! It is also good when used in conjunction with units like the Marauder-Class Corvette. So a few copies of this unit will fit quite comfortably in your Intercept or Retaliate themed decks.

But, what if you want to keep this unit around for a while and utilize it's cheap cost and amazing stats. Well, look no further than the Jedi General who also happens to know a thing or two about capital ships but Saesee Tinn (A). Saesee will, for the total cost of ten build, bump the Neutron-class Star Cruiser up to 50 speed, 7 power and Evade 2. Why take the double damage when you could prevent it to begin with? Artoo's Repairs is a card that works great with this unit as well because you can prevent potential damage and remove damage counter's as well. Or, for two more Build, you could equip the Cruiser with a Turbolaser and give it Critical Hit 2.

We've talked about the Light side using the Cruiser, but what about the Dark side. There are many good Imperial Capital Ship pilots, but one has the potential in Intercept decks. Captain Lennox, at only two build, would give you a five build unit with 70 speed and 7 power. The drawback is that it gets an extra damage counter for each attack. But, with a proper damage removal system in place, it could prove fatal for the Light side.

Another good use for the Cruiser would be in Skywlkr's "Lando Has Asteroids" deck from a few weeks ago. With your asteroids to intercept and your Yinchorri's Retaliating, the Cruiser would be a cheap alternative to the other fighters listed in the deck article. And with them receiving no damage (due the intercepting asteroids), the Cruiser will stick around long enough to finish of the Light side in Space.

I hope you enjoyed this little taste of the soon to be released Battle of Endor expansion. Hopefully you got some ideas out of it, and will implement this card into your decks when it is released. As for now, I'll let the thoughts simmer in your heads untill the time comes for the unveiling of the IDC's latest expansion.
