June 2, 2007 passed by unnoticed by most of
the world, but this date means a lot more to the members of the
Star Wars Trading Card Game (SWTCG) community. Earlier this month
the Independent Development Committee (IDC) celebrated the
1 year anniversary of their first expansion, Fall
of the Republic! (FOTR) On that fateful day the IDC closed
off the prequel trilogy by providing the follow up expansion that
Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) promised but never delivered. And today,
the 22nd of June 2007, the IDC is at it again by completing the
original Star Wars trilogy with their newest expansion Battle
of Endor (BOE).

With two expansions under our belt the IDC
believes this is our greatest work yet. True, there was a delay
in the release of this expansion but that is because of our high
expectations for this set and our harsh evaluation of what we had
produced. We had a set that worked, but was not what we wanted to
provide the SWTCG player. Battle of Endor is thought internally
to be the IDCs defining moment on our journey so far and TODAY
you get to decide for yourself as you DOMINATE, CORRUPT, REDEEM
and CELEBRATE the Battle of Endor!
Battle of Endor, the IDCs third
and largest expansion for the SWTCG, is set during Star Wars
Episode VI Return of the Jedi and will help fill the gaps in
the Star Wars Sagas epic conclusion. However, the IDC set
out to achieve much more this time around. We didnt want to
just provide players with more cards to fill out the Star Wars story
and saga, we wanted to move the game forward. We started the ball
rolling in Scum
and Villainy with the introduction of the IDCs first new
keyword ability, Stealth, and we plan to continue down the
path we have set out and take the SWTCG to new heights.
In the Battle of Endor expansion we
tried to focus the development of the expansion around the four
key themes found in George Lucas masterful conclusion of the
Star Wars Saga; Domination, Corruption, Redemption
and Celebration.
DOMINATION
The Galactic Empire is at its peak. The military
might of the Empire has gone mostly unchallenged and the Rebel Alliance
although it did succeed in destroying the Death Star is no match
for the dominance of the entire Imperial Fleet. The Battle of Endor
expansion will provide you the tools you need to dominate, one of
which is the 2nd Death Star

CORRUPTION

WOTC toyed with the idea of corruption in some
of their expansions, but the IDC is taking this idea seriously and
has really developed it into a viable strategy in the Battle
of Endor expansion. During the build up to this release I have
been giving you all a taste of the true nature of the Dark Side
of the Force by previewing some of the cards that feature corruption.
Today you can delve into the corruption the Dark Side offers with
new cards like this one

REDEMPTION
The path of the Chosen One is a difficult road
to walk indeed. As Luke fights to defeat the defeat the darkness
inside him and battles to ward of the corruption of the Emperor
he also is in a battle to save his father. The ultimate battle of
the galaxy is taking place, not a battle about to conquer or to
restore freedom but a battle to redeem. Anakin Skywalker has been
under the corruption of the Dark Side and in the Battle of Endor
you will have the chance to decide his fate. Will Anakin receive
redemption? With this card you decide

CELEBRATION
While the battle to decide the fate of the
galaxy takes place in space above the moon of Endor, the forests
of Endor experience their own war. The native Ewoks have mostly
let the occupation of their home-world go unchallenged, but when
the newest members of their tribe decide to go to war against the
Imperial intruders, the native Ewoks rally the troops. The Ewok
and Endor subtypes take a major role in the Battle of Endor
expansion. Celebrate the defeat of the Empire with some new furry
little friends

The wait is over! Battle of Endor is
here! Choose your destiny!
DOMINATION. CORRUPTION. REDEPTION. CELEBRATION.
