STAR WARS

FALL OF THE REPUBLIC

'INDEFINITE HOLD!'

WIZARDS OF THE COAST issued the order with ease. Dark times fall upon the faithful few as WIZARDS new apprentice, STAR WARS MINIATURES, sweeps through the once solid ranks of SW:TCG enthusiasts claiming them as trophies, offering the option "join us or die!"

More and more SW:TCG gamers flock to join the ranks of SW MINIATURES and the frail balance in the force is broken. WIZARDS grip tightens and more SW:TCG players fall through into the abyss. Speculations and rumours run rampant and the future of the SW:TCG game is dismal at best.

A group of loyalists hold true to the truth and find shelter at REBELBASERS.COM where the lure of the Dark side cannot reach them. Boldly, the faithful few create an organization to withstand temptation and loyally support the SW:TCG. As the seeds of rebellion matured, the IDC was born and a new era is on the horizon, an era of significance…

May 19 2006. This date marked the one year anniversary of the release of Star Wars Episode III: Revenge of the Sith and the one year anniversary of the release of the Revenge of the Sith (ROTS) Star Wars Trading Card Game (SW:TCG) expansion. In the year after its release, Star Wars fans have been provided with action figures, Lego sets, board games and many other pieces of Star Wars merchandise. Wizards of the Coast (WOTC) even planned to release an expansion for the SW:TCG, called Rise of the Empire (ROTE), but they let the SW:TCG players down by first delaying it's release and then finally placing the SW:TCG game on 'indefinite hold'.

Outrage ran through the SW:TCG community and many unimpressed players let WOTC know about their disgust. The seeds of rebellion were planted early after this shocking announcement. TCG players from around the globe decided it was time to take matters into their own hands. After many months of discussions and development, the SW:TCG Independent Development Committee (IDC) was born.

Elected by TCG players from all over the world, the IDC was created as a decision making body to represent players of the Star Wars Trading Card Game.

The Purpose of the Committee is to provide direction, management and oversight for the continued development of Star Wars Trading Card Game sets and associated rules. The development of these sets are, in no way, produced for a profit to the IDC.

The Purpose of the Committee is to also promote the continued growth and interest in the Star Wars Trading Card Game through the support of online TCG gaming and tournaments.

The IDC has been working secretly on the production of their first Dream Card set and have found it hard to contain their excitement of how awesome their work had become. The IDC is split into 5 main departments each tasked with creating the best SW:TCG set to date:

Card Development - Responsible for choosing the next expansion, developing a card list, creating the text and abilities for the cards and making sure the expansion vision stays intact.
Rules - Responsible for legalising card text and providing rulings to the SW:TCG public.
Play Testing - Responsible for the play testing of created cards to ensure no 'broken' combo's can be exploited between past cards and new cards.
Graphical Design - Responsible for the creation of card images and the production of the online Lackey plugin.
Public Affairs - The IDC's Liaison to the SW:TCG public and IDC promoter.

The Fall of the Republic expansion is the first expansion produced by the IDC. It is set during Star Wars Episode III and focuses heavily on the fall of Anakin Skywalker to the Dark side, the Clone army betraying the Jedi and the Rise of the Empire. The FOTR set will also provide SW:TCG gamers with the might of Kashyyyk, the often requested Wookiee units. This 120 card expansion set features some of your favorites from Revenge of the Sith, but also introduces the much feared General Grievous, Invisible Hand and dark side clones!
