From the darkest corner of Jabba's palace to
the seediest of cantinas, the galaxy is full of the lowest breeds
of scum and villainy. Bounty hunters, assassins, and spies, all
are part of the criminal underworld. Either by slinking in the shadows
or displaying powerful weapons, these beings are for hire. Only
this time, you're in control.
The
first and only time Wizard of the Coast allowed Star Wars TCG players
world-wide to help develop a card for the TCG was for the Empire
Strikes Back expansion. After seven online polls, Mara
Jade (A) was created. In three years and ten WOTC expansions,
the TCG fan got to help make one card. We at the IDC hope to rectify
this oversight. So, today and in the following weeks, YOU, the loyal
TCG player, will help us create a card for our next expansion, Scum
and Villainy.
Time
to Cast Your Vote
Well, I personally was very surprised that Equipment won. Next to
Locations, Equipment would have to be the least favorite card of
TCG players. Not many people include them in their decks. But, maybe
with your help, we can make an Equipment card that everyone will
want to play.
So Equipment
it is. Even though we now know the basic idea of what we're going
to make together, there's still a lot more steps we have to complete
before we're finished. The first of which is we have to decide what
affiliation to make this Equipment card. Since Scum and Villainy
will cover all aspects of the Star Wars criminal underworld and
handsome "scoundrels", both Light, Dark and Neutral, its
going to be a hard choice deciding which one to pick.
We just
can't stress enough how important this choice is. This is all up
to you. We urge you to take some time and really think about what
you want. You should be thinking down the road as well... who's
equipment would you like to see...what kind of abilities do you
think this equipment would have... what ideas come to your head
depending on what affiliation you choose?
Once you've come to a decision,
then cast your vote and we'll start tracking. We'll tally your votes
and announce next week what you've decided and go from there.
So join
us each week as You Make The Card!
You
Make The Card - Step Two
For those who are curious, here's
the results from Step One.
What
affiliation do you want your Equipment card to be? Your options
are limited to the card types currently available in the game:
Light
Dark
Neutral
Keep in
mind that you are designing a card based on any of the movies,
books, comics or any other Expanded Universe dealing with Star
Wars. Bounty hunters, mercenaries, scruffy-looking nerf-herders
and their equipment. There is no bounty too high.
In order
to fully involve the current TCG community and players, the poll
will be conducted over on the Rebelbaser
forums. You must be a member of the forums to vote.

Voting
for Step One ends 12:00pm CST, July 27th, 2006.. We will post
the results Friday, July 28st along with Step Three.
We're
very glad that you've joined us for this fun and exciting process
and we look forward to seeing what kind of card the TCG fan community
can create!
