You Make The Card - Part 3
By Brian Weeks

In what might be considered a landslide, Neutral was overwhelmingly declared the winner of Round Two of You Make The Card. Our voters showed their knowledge of Star Wars in that when dealing with bounty hunters and the scum of the galaxy, their Affiliation would always be Neutral. Whoever offers them the most credits buys their allegiance.

For those who are curious, here's the results from Step Two.

You Make The Card - Step Three

The IDC as a whole came up with some suggestions for the Equipment you would vote on. Then the Card Development Committee made the final decision on the the list we present to you below. We feel this well-balanced list creates some hard choices for you to vote on.

Once you've come to a decision on what Equipment you want to see made into a card, then cast your vote and we'll start tracking. We'll tally your votes and announce next week what you've decided and go from there. Keep in mind that with some of the basic decisions now behind us, the voting is going to get a little more intense.

So join us each week as You Make The Card!

Boba Fett's Armor
Mandalorian armor was full body armor, completely covering the wearer. The helmets possessed a T-shaped visor, but completely covered the face. Also, the armor itself was not just for defense, but was also a weapon. Some weapons ranged from simple dart shooters to wrist-mounted rocket launchers and flamethrowers.

Flame Thrower
A flamethrower or flame projector was a weapon which fired a burning stream of liquid or gas. They were useful in close-quarters combat and attacks against caves and bunkers. They were also effective in boarding operations. Because of their usefulness, flamethrowers were sometimes used by bounty hunters.

Han Solo's Blaster
Han Solo, hero of the Rebellion and former smuggler, wore a heavily modified BlasTech DL-44 sidearm. The BlasTech DL-44 heavy blaster pistol was a powerful sidearm from the time of the Galactic Civil War. It found some use by the Rebel Alliance on account of its ability to consistently penetrate Stormtrooper armor. It was soon outlawed by the Empire because of this.

Slugthrower
Slugthrowers were weapons that used an explosive chemical to launch a solid projectile (a "slug") at a high velocity. A typical pistol had a maximum range of 60 meters, while on a rifle this was extended to 300 meters. Their firing rates varied immensely and their slugs also varied. Some were made of metal, some ceramic or even hardened plastics.

Thermal Detonator
A thermal detonator was a highly unstable grenade-like weapon popular with criminals, bounty hunters and mercenaries. It was made to be thrown or dropped by a vehicle. The style and purpose of thermal detonators varied widely, and despite the legal restrictions of many governments, were in widespread use across the galaxy.

Vibro-ax
A vibro-ax was simply a standard ax and handle fitted with a vibration generator that, when fed by a power cell, caused the ax head to vibrate rapidly, thus causing more damage to a target. Some handles were designed to dampen the vibration effect for the user, though cruder versions, such as those wielded by the Gamorreans, used wooden handles.

Keep in mind that you are designing an Equipment card based on any of the movies, books, comics or any other Expanded Universe dealing with Star Wars. Equipment that bounty hunters, mercenaries and scruffy-looking nerf-herders use. There is no bounty too high.

In order to fully involve the current TCG community and players, the poll will be conducted over on the Rebelbaser forums. You must be a member of the forums to vote.

He is married, has a three year old son, is an architect, has been the Treasurer and Newsletter Editor for five years for JediOKC (an Oklahoma City based Star Wars Fan Club), was the IDC Card Development Chairperson for Fall of the Republic and is now the IDC Public Affairs Chairperson. Despite all that, he still has time to introduce the game to new players…KEEP THE GAME ALIVE!
