Battle
of Endor - You Make The Card - Part 2 by
Brian Weeks
From
across the starry heavens to the lowest levels of the forest floor,
an epic battle rages. Planet side, Imperial scout troopers, rebel
commandos, and even the indiginous furry Ewoks fight for dominance
and their own survival. Far above, in the cold reaches of space,
two Jedi fight to fulfill their destinies. The ultimate battle of
good versus evil is about to begin, and this time, YOU are in control.
The first and only time Wizard
of the Coast allowed Star Wars TCG players world-wide to help develop
a card for the TCG was for the Empire Strikes Back expansion.
After seven online polls, Mara
Jade (A) was created. In three years and ten WOTC expansions,
the TCG fan got to help make one card. The IDC rectified this oversight
by allowing you to help create the Equipment card, Thermal Detonator
for Scum
and Villainy. So, today and in the following weeks, YOU, the
loyal TCG player, will again help us create a card for our next
expansion, Battle
of Endor.
Time
to Cast Your Vote
Well, Space was the card you chose be the next You Make The Card.
I personally voted for Space, so I was happy to see it chosen. There
could never be enough Space units (in my opinion). There are so
many unique and interesting units that can be created from the Battle
of Endor. With your help, we can do just that.
Even
though we now know the basic card type of what we're going to make
together, there's still many more steps we have to complete before
we're finished. The first of which is that we have to decide what
affiliation to make this Space card. Since the Battle of Endor involved
many starships, both Light, Dark and Neutral, its going to be a
hard choice deciding which one to pick.
For those who are curious, here's
the results from Step One.
You
Make The Card - Step Two
We
just can't stress enough how important this choice is. This is all
up to you. We urge you to take some time and really think about
what you want. You should be thinking down the road as well... which
Space unit would you like to see...what kind of abilities do you
think this ship would have... what ideas come to your head depending
on what affiliation you choose?
What
affiliation do you want your Space unit card to be? Your options
are limited to the card types currently available in the game:
Light
Dark
Neutral
Keep
in mind that you are designing a Space unit card based on the
Battle of Endor, the second half of Return of the Jedi. Imperials,
Rebels, Mercenaries and any of their ships. The choice is yours.
Voting
for Step Two ends 12:00pm CST, Thursday, February 15th, 2007.
The Card Development Sub-committee will then create a list
of what Space units you can vote on. Part Three will then be posted
on Friday, February 16th, 2007.
We're
very glad that you've joined us for this fun and exciting process
and we look forward to seeing what kind of card the TCG fan community
can create!
