Skywlkr Deckbuilder Version 12.0
by Brian Weeks

The Skywlkr Deckbuilder is an Excel spreadsheet that I started back in 2002 not long after Wizards of the Coast released Star Wars: The Trading Card Game. It was originally produced and conceived by Richard Chamberlain, aka ItchyRichy, a member at Rebelbasers. After some modifications and improvements, I released the initial version 1.0. After each expansion released by WOTC, I updated the deckbuilder. That was until WOTC announced their "indefinite hold" of the game. That was in 2005 and I stopped my updates with Skywlkr version 10.0.

Fast foward to 2007. After joining the IDC, which created two more expansions for the game, many players were requesting that I update the file. The Skywlkr Deckbuilder includes the cards from all 12 expansions and will soon include cards from the new IDC expansion, Battle of Endor.

The columns in the first worksheet are sortable and there are also autofilter columns to sort the cards by all their stats and even the key words described in their abilities texts. When you choose your cards, the spreadsheet automatically calculates your drawing percentage (the chance of drawing that particular card).

After chosing the cards you want for your deck, you can flip to the next worksheet tab and see the stats for your deck, including the breakdown of your card totals (including by type, by side, by rarity and by set). There is also a warning box, so if you're deck doesn't meet the rules of the game, it will let you know what's wrong.

Click on the third worksheet tab and you can analyze your deck through the use of line graphs, which show how balanced (or unbalanced) your deck strategy is.

It's gone through quite a few modifications over the years, but still remains close to the original design. So, without further ado, here it is. Skywlkr v.12.0.

About the Author
Brian Weeks (aka Skywlkr) has been playing the Star Wars TCG since its introduction at Celebration 2 in 2002. After playing the demo game and introducing it to RedneckJedi and Darthwalls, Team 'Dude Where's My Card' was created. He competed in three qualifiers, yet the closest he ever ranked was eighth. As a member on Rebelbasers, SWDuelist and a writer for the now defunct Diehard Online, he has tried to promote the game through information and interaction.

He is married, has a three year old son, is an architect, has been the Treasurer and Newsletter Editor for five years for JediOKC (an Oklahoma City based Star Wars Fan Club), was the IDC Card Development Chairperson for Fall of the Republic and is now the IDC Public Affairs Chairperson. Despite all that, he still has time to introduce the game to new players…KEEP THE GAME ALIVE.
