The RAW Mystery Revealed

After three weeks, the IDC finally
reveals it's first three preview cards for the upcoming expansion,
Republic
At War. With a revealed unit from each arena, let's take a look
at the cards.
As discussed in this weeks COTW,
the Acclamator I-Class Cruiser operates in a way similar
to the Trade
Federation Battle Freighter. In addition to being able to move
to the Ground arena, this unit not only has a Republic subtype,
but an Aquatic subtype as well. As an added bonus, as long as the
Cruiser is in the Ground arena, each Aquatic unit cost 1 less build
counter (including other Acclamator I-Class Cruisers). I
predict this unit is going to see alot of tournment play in the
coming weeks.
This card, while very similiar to the Patrol
Mode Vulture Droid, Super Battle Droid Battalion comes
with Retaliate 2 and would work well in any Separatist or Trade
Federation Deck.
Voolvif Monn (A) is probably one of my favorite previews
of these three. In the same vein as Captain
Sarkli (A), Voolvif is a Squad Pilot. What is unique about his
Pilot ability is that he gives his Squad the Jedi subtype and Deflect
1. Use this with Delta
Squad (A) or even Rebel
Escape Squad and you would have a fairly formidable unit. Who
knows what other possible Squads will be released in this expansion?
And, in case you didn't notice,
the rarities haven't been assigned to the cards yet. There is still
some last minute development going on. Therefore, these cards aren't
yet tournament legal, but an announcement will be made when they
