"Stang! Turn that speaker down Volka. I'm up."

"No can do, Ner vod.", said Volka as he dressed into his pilot's suit. "We're in system now. Let's go brothers! Time to hunt! I want everybody on deck in five."

I slowly swung my feet off the bunk and rubbed my temples. That damn dream again kept me up all night. I thought we were supposed to forget about being clones. Instead I'm reminded of it everyday. Birth and death. That's the way of the GAR. [Grand Army of the Republic] As I began to suit up, I thought back to where "we" started. It had only been four months since we were first "commissioned". The Battle of Geonosis was only the beginning. We've been through so many battles and so many systems, that I've lost count. I've also lost count of how many brothers we've lost in such a short time. I finish dressing, grab my helmet and leave our crew quarters.

On the way to the flight deck, I see myself in each and every brother I pass. Unsettling yes, but I'm used to it now. Ten years of training on Kamino and you forget you're a clone. As I reach the flight deck I see Red Squadron being briefed by Commander Skywalker and Lieutenant Volka. Skywalker's a good kid...a Jedi, but still one of us. He doesn't ask us to do anything he wouldn't do first.

"We've just entered the Muunilinst System." said Skywalker. "Chancellor Palpatine has informed us that San Hill himself is present on the surface. If we can capture him, we can hopefully slow down the funding and production of most of the Separatist droids and warships. General Kenobi will be leading a task force on the surface and we will be in space, preventing and destroying any Separatist reinforcements that try to land. I will be leading Red Squadron on the mission and Volka will be in the guard position. Stay close and watch your backs. We'll be back in time for breakfast. May the Force be with you."

"That's it," said Volka, "you know your assignments. Ib'tuur jatne tuur ash'ad kyr'amur." [Today is a good day for some other bugger to die.]

'In the fourth Independent Development Committee (IDC) expansion, Clone Wars: Republic At War (CW: RAW), the fate of the Republic is in your hands. A fierce war has begun like the galaxy has never seen before. The Clone Wars are spreading all across the galaxy, directly affecting many systems but all feel the effects of the war. As the heat of war grows so too does the prowess of the chosen one, who is about to face one of his darkest moments. Today I'll introduce you to the next two preview cards from the Clone Wars: Republic At War dream card expansion set developed by the Independent Development Committee as we build up to the biggest release in the history of the IDC!

Clone Trooper Pilot, the first card previewed today, is a very versatile unit. For only 3 build, he can pilot not only Starfighters, but can also pilot Gunships and Walkers. This ability alone is a huge bonus for the Light side. Since the beginning of the game, the Light side has had only one Walker pilot (Chewbacca (J)) and zero Gunship pilots. Now we have one unit that does all three!

For this 3 build, you get some pretty decent abilities. He gives a Starfighter +10 speed and Accuracy 1, while a Gunship or Walker would get +1 power and Armor. On a Republic Attack Gunship UH-478, you would have a 40 speed, 7 power, 6 health and Armor, Gunship. A great Walker combo would be to deploy him to an AT-TE Walker 23x. This would give you a Walker with 50 speed, 6 power, 4 health, Armor and Critical Hit 2! There are so many great starfighter's available for this unit to pilot that it's hard picking just one. But I would have to go with Luke's X-wing (C). Throw on R2-D2 (J) as an extra pilot and you get a unit with 70 speed, 3 power, 3 health, Accuracy 2, Lucky 3, Critical Hit 1, Shields 1, "Pay 1 Force -> Evade 1" and "At the start of the Space battle step, remove 1 damage counter from this Starfighter." Either of the other two R2's would work equally as well. Lars Homestead and Lama Su (A) would reduce the cost of this package from 11 build to 7!! And without revealing too much, I can let you know that we do have some great Clone and Gunship cards on the way that will make this unit even more useable. I foresee the Clone Trooper Pilot making an appearance in many decks. But, we also have some great Dark side Starfighter counter-units that will hopefully help to balance the "Luke's X-wing" issues. There will be more to discuss in the coming weeks on these developments.

Coordinated Effort, the second card previewed today, is a multi-purpose battle card similiar to Let the Cube Decide or Lightsaber Collection. You roll a die a recieve a "bonus" (or in this case a "penalty") for whichever number you roll. As you can read on the card image above, you can either receive a postive or negative ability. Placing damage counters, doing damage or doing dice of damage are essentially the results. The only thing that differs is where it goes, your opponent or you. You can reduce the cost of this card by using Cloud City Battleground and either side can use it. In my opinion, the Jury is still out on this one. You have a 50-50 chance of doing damage to your own unit (if you have units in the Space arena). You could also use it when you have no units in the Space arena and hope to roll a 4 through 6 to do damage to your opponent. But, imo, the best strategy I could come up with would be to have units that can retreat or move during the Space battle step. Rebel Fleet, Tantive IV (B), the newly previewed Acclamator I-class Cruiser, Tyranus' Solar Sailor (A) and Vader's TIE Fighter (C) are all viable units for this strategy. What other possilbe strategies are there for this card? Be sure to post your ideas in the Rebelbaser's forum.

The Battle of Muunilinst is under way and with these two cards from the IDC’s fourth expansion Clone Wars: Republic At War at your disposal you will be able to win battle for space. Join us next week as we reveal two more new and exciting cards from Clone Wars: Republic At War.
