They Win This Round
By the Second Revan

When we play this game, we always want to win. We might be overwhelmed by our opponent, yet still we stand and fight. We hold onto the hope that our opponent will roll a steady stream of ones. However, sometimes, we should accept that it is best to put down our blasters, and let the Wookiee win.

With the fifth IDC set, Invasion of Naboo, we can do exactly that, with today’s spoiler card, They Win This Round.

Damage Prevention battle cards have been around for a long time, however, this one could be truly powerful. With a fast unit, you could attack, with the full power of a Character or Ground unit, armed with the necessary piece of Equipment, and then remove it to prevent 3 damage if necessary. Done correctly, this little Battle card could cost you nothing. If your card offers you some defensive ability, like Parry, you might miss out, however, usually 3 damage would be more than what would be dealt to you. However, if it is a purely offensive, you won’t suffer that problem. So, with a purely offensive Equipment card on a fast unit, the only cost to using this card would be re equipping it. This can be down for free as well, though.

The only Equipment cards that don’t have Equip costs at the moment are Blaster Pistol, Scout Blaster and Gatling Gauntlet. Not an impressive list, Blaster Pistol gives you 1 power for 1 build, and Scout Blaster only works against Hidden Cost Units. Gatling Gauntlet is powerful in the right hands, or in the wrong hands, when you think about the scum who reap the benefits.

However, Jabba has a friend who would be very useful in this situation. Vizam (A). With Vizam (A) deployed, all Equipment costs one less Build and one less Force to Equip to your non-Jedi Characters. This increases the cards you can use greatly. Another card I see benefiting greatly from this is the galaxies favourite smuggler, Han Solo. Most of the powerful cards in this game are Jedi, but Han is one of the few characters who you can fully stack that would benefit from Vizam (A). Now you could throw down several Commando Rifles for free, and use them on Han. Use the Stun to make one person powerless, and then remove it to prevent 3 damage from the other foe. You could also use Part of the Tribe, and use some of the Ewok equipment, for Accuracy or Lucky. I can see this card having lots of uses in Equipment decks.
