MC-80 Battleship
By Nick Prince

The MC-80 Battleship is the premiere
example of the new Light-side Capital Ships. Its stats, 30/7/7,
aren't bad for a 7 build unit in the pre-Endor environment. But
in a post-Endor one though, when one Stealth unit can destroy a
fleet of fast moving units, the MC-80 is an exceptional unit. The
30 speed makes it slower than any Stealth units in the Space arena,
but faster or speed-tied with many other Capital ships. It sits
on, more than likely, the perfect speed for a Capital ship.
What truly seals the deal for the Battleship though is its Overkill
ability. In addition to decent stats (and good speed) for a 7 build
capital ship, Overkill allows it to fight and destroy multiple higher
speed units. With cards such as Intensify
Forward Firepower, the ship can destroy multiple high-power
units, or at least severely weaken them.
The addition of new pilots, namely Admiral
Ackbar (B), or simply the re-use of an old one, like Rebel
Lieutenant, adds more ability to the Battleship. With a card
such as Home
One Bridge, the Overkill ability becomes more pronounced. Cost-reducing
effects for Rebels, namely the new Mon
Mothma (C), bring the Battleship's cost to 6 build points, where
it's easily worth its weight in gold build points.
Baron Soontir Fel (A)

Since the Battle
of Endor You Make The Card, Fel's
TIE Interceptor (A), was featured in an article last
week, and the famous pilot of said vehicle featured is featured
in a Behind the Cards article this
week, I thought it only fitting that the same pilot should be
featured as a COTW this week.
Baron Soontir Fel (A), at 5 Build, is
a pilot well worth the cost. He gives any starfighter he's piloting
+20 speed, +2 power, Lucky 2, and unpreventable damage. While he
might be right at home on his TIE Interceptor, he might even be
more comfortable in Grievous'
Starfighter (A). With Fel piloting, Grievous' Starfighter would
be at 80 speed, 5 power, 3 health, Accuracy 1, Critical Hit 1, Lucky
2 and unpreventable damage. Another favorable starfighter for him
would be Inferno
(A).
Or, you could have both starfighter's in the
Space arena, along with a Lambda-class
Shuttle, and he could move between the two each turn. Just make
sure you have some intercepting units or damage prevention to protect
him and the starfighter he's riding on.
Keep your eye out for more Pilot/Starfighter
combo's in the new Battle of Endor expansion. With his pilot subtype,
you could get him out for 3 Build using Executor
Bridge or with his Imperial subtype take advantage of Vader's
Imperial Shuttle's lower build bonus. There's a wealth of possibilities
with Fel. Check them all out.
Imperial City

I thought it would be a great lead-in to the
release of the Battle
of Endor expansion to highlight another Dark Side card.
But not your usual Dark Side card. Imperial City is a Location
card which was released in the previous IDC expansion, Scum
and Villainy.
What makes this card worth reviewing (and possibly
adding in your new BOE Dark side tournament decks) is what it does
and what it could do for you in a few weeks. It's text reads: "Each
of your Imperial units costs one less build counter point to deploy."
And while considered pricey at 4 Build, this card could seriously
impact any existing, or new, Imperial swarm deck.
Seeing as Imperial City is the only
Imperial card that lets you deploy your Imperial units for less
build, then the player must look for ways to generate more Build
points. More Build points (and a good draw engine) will help you
generate some Imperial swarms. There are some good Imperial Build
generating units out there to aid in this.
Will Battle of Endor contain any new
Imperial Build generators? Cheaper starfighters? A draw engine for
Ground units? With just a week to go, you will soon see what this
new IDC expansion has to offer.
Emperor Palpatine (E)

It makes perfect sense to feature this card
as a Card of the Week. With three Corruption Counter cards previewed
so far and a fourth previewed today (Darth
Vader (X)), there's sure to be a Dark Side Corruption deck on
the horizon. How many more Corruption units will we see in the new
Battle
of Endor expansion? We'll just have to wait and see.
But, until then, we can plan ahead and speculate
on what Corruption cards would work well together. Emperor Palpatine
(E) has the ability "Pay 2 Force, pay 1 build point,
and tap -> Put a corruption counter on a unit in any arena. Play
only during your build step. If Palpatine is discarded from play,
remove all corruption counters from each unit with corruption counters.
If all of your opponent's deployed units have corruption counters
on them, you win the game."
Combine this ability by stacking the previewed
Emperor
Palpatine (H) and you could speed up the process of winning
the game with Corruption counters. Or, you could use both abilities
to place multiple Counters on one Character and the use Darth Vader
(X)'s ability to get more power.
The possible strategies are just beginning
to pop up, so I look forward to seeing what the TCG players come
up with.
Reorganization
By Trent McCrow

Only a fool would bet against Imperials not being in the upcoming
Battle
of Endor expansion. This is true for two main reasons; one,
Imperials are at the core of the Battle of Endor, and two, the leader
of the Card Development team (Cody Barnett) is Imperial crazed!
So it should be no surprise that there will be Imperials in the
BOE expansion. This week, the IDC's CotW isn't an Imperial, but
it was one of the cards Cody sneaked into the Fall
of the Republic expansion; Reorganization.
This 2 build mission allows the Dark Side player to affect some
of their units for the rest of the game. Once played, the DS player
is allowed to choose two of their units and brand them with the
Imperial subtype until the end of the game!
With so many Imperial cards available to us for deckbuilding, there
are some very powerful Imperial strategies around. Reorganization
can provide the unique opportunity to turn up to eight of your units
(if you have four Reorganization's in your deck) into Imperial's.
Combine this with some of the existing (or possibly soon to be)
Imperial modifiers and you could make a huge difference in your
game. It is clear that the Emperor's corruption and galactic plans
started with the reorganization of the senate.
And that is why Reoganization is the IDC Card of the Week!
