Dun Möch is a versatile, splashable
card for most Dark Side decks. As long as the deck runs some form
of a Dark Jedi, be it Space, Ground or Character, it serves as,
at the very least, "2 Build points: Your opponent loses
4 Force." However, if your opponent just can't spare
that Force... say, because it's already been drained in some other
fashion, it acts as a Force leech, stealing more and more of their
Force.
And as long as Dun Möch is attached
to an opponent's Character, they have to manage their Force much
more carefully. Because if they run out of Force attacking with
that Character, then the Character gets locked down until the
next turn.
When used in conjunction with Capture
Obi-Wan, Maul's
Strategy, Carbon
Freeze or in any Force Drain Deck, tapping your opponent's
Characters is priceless. And if you use Dun Möch with
these cards and combine them in a deck with Falcon's
Needs or Wristcuffs,
you will not only be draining Force, but Build as well.
Dun Möch is a versatile card which you
can use to set up tough choices for your opponent: attack and
risk Force loss and temporary Character loss, or wait, and knowingly
forgo dealing damage with a Character?
Kit Fisto (B)

Aquatic decks were given a massive boost in the
IDC's latest expansion, Clone
Wars: Republic at War. This is due to the many Aquatic units
featured from the battle of Mon Calamari. One of the most important
of these new Aquatic cards is Nautolan Jedi Master, Kit Fisto
(B).
In the past, Aquatic decks have been a sub-theme
featured in the Ground arena only, but with the expansion of the
SWTCG metagame in CW:RAW, the Aquatic theme rises from the deep.
Kit Fisto (B) plays a pivotal role in the light side Aquatic
deck as he provides all your other Aquatic units with +2 power
and Critical Hit 1.
When compared to Wizards Kit
Fisto (A) version of the Nautolan Jedi Master, Kit Fisto
(B) come up trumps each time. For only 1 extra build point
you get: 10 extra speed, 2 extra power, P1 Deflect 1 and P1 Evade
1 instead of P2 Evade 2, as well as the subtype bonus' for Aquatic,
Republic and Officer.
When played in an Aquatic theme deck using Force
Orb and the new Mon Calamari Aquatic units you truely will
trust Master Fisto's insight!
Stolen Lightsaber
By Brian Weeks
Friday, April 11th, 2008
This weeks COTW is the first Equipment card to be
featured since December 2007's Wristcuffs.
Stolen Lightsaber might not appear to be much on the surface,
but after you see who it was designed for, you may have a different
opinion.
For 0 build and a 3 Force Equip cost, you get a
Neutral Equipment that can be attached to either a Ground or Character
unit. Once attached, it will give your Jedi or Sith +1 health.
And, if you attach it to General Grievous, he gets +1 power.
While 3 Force is a little pricey for an Equip cost,
the advantages far outweigh this cost. When you Equip it to General
Grievous (E), it will allow you to untap Grievous for Equipment
he has attached. So, for 3 Force, you're not only getting +1 health
and +1 power, but also a free untap. Well worth the initial Equip
cost.
For the Light Side Jedi, this Equipment gets a huge
playability boost with Ilum
Temple. With this Location in play (and for a 2 build deploy
cost), Equipment cost 2 less Force to attach to your Jedi AND
your Jedi get Parry 2 if they have Equipment attached!!! So for
2 build a 1 Force, you can Equip a Jedi and give them +1 health
and Parry 2.
And, so there's something for everybody, if you
have Dash
Rendar (B) in your deck, he gets +1 power and +1 health for
each Equipment attached to him!!
So, as you can see, there's alot of possibilities
with this one card and alot of deck types it can fill. Maybe you'll
find some other uses for this new Equipment card!
Aayla Secura (C)
By Brian Weeks
Friday, April 4th, 2008
For my first Republic
at War COTW, I would like to present the first card of the
set, Aayla Secura (C). Reminiscent of one of my favorite
WOTC cards, Dark
Woman (A), Aayla Secura (C) has four abilities that
all cost one Force to use.
For 5 Build, you get a Twi'lek Jedi Knight (and
Republic Officer) that has the stats of 50/4/4 and for four Force,
can Parry, prevent 1 damage, Deflect 1 and Evade 1 all in one
attack. And Aayla's prevent 1 damage can be used on any Jedi or
Clone unit in the Ground or Character arena.
With this new Aayla, I can now resurrect one of
my favorite old deck strategies. For 6 Build, with Yoda
(H) , both Dark
Woman (A) and Aayla's prevent abilities will essentially cost
0 Force. You still have to have the initial Force to pay for the
prevention, but after you prevent that damage, you gain that 1
Force back. And with Don't
Get All Mushy, Dark Woman and Aayla get each other's abilities
(with the exception of Aayla's Parry and Dark Woman's Accuracy).
So now both can Deflect 2, Evade 2, Intercept and Prevent 1 damage...all
for essentially 0 Force!!!
There's many more possibilities available with this
great card. I didn't even talk about stacking her with her previous
versions. So while you're checking out all the new cards, be sure
to look for other combos that could help your game and Aayla.
