Smuggling Run
By Brian Weeks

Friday, February 27th, 2009

This weeks Card Of The Week, Smuggling Run , can be used in conjunction with this week's previewed card, Queen's Royal Starship (A).

It's text reads "When the battle phase starts, choose one of your Transports in the Space arena and one of your Smugglers in the Character arena. When the Character battle step ends, if the chosen Transport and Smuggler are still in those arenas, you gain +5 build points next turn." And if you can guarantee that your Transport and Smuggler will still be around, the two build points Smuggling Run cost would be worth it.

So, how to make sure this happens? First, use this week's Invasion of Naboo preview card, Queen's Royal Starship (A) and make sure it's piloted by a unit with either Lucky or damage prevention (like Dash Rendar (A) or Ric Olie (A)). Then, in the Character arena, utilize the Han Solo (G)/Princess Leia (G) Diplomat deck and keep Han around till the conclusion of the Battle step. It's that easy. Have fun gaining that build!!

Bib Fortuna (A)
By Brian Weeks

Friday, February 6th, 2009

This weeks Card Of The Week, Bib Fortuna (A), can be used in conjunction with this week's previewed card, Plunder the Fallen. There are many card combos that can be utilized with this week's preview card and this is just one of them.

Bib Fortuna (A)'s text reads "Pay 0 Force -> Choose one of your neutral units in any arena. Put that unit facedown under Bib Fortuna. He gets +20 speed, +2 power, and +2 health for each card under him. (Cards put under Bib Fortuna in this way are not part of his stack and are not in play.) Play only when no unit is attacking." Bib Fortuna (A) was seen quite often (back in the day) in your typical Tatooine/Neutral unit deck. With Jabba's Palace, Bib Fortuna (A) would add to his ability +10, +1 and +1. With Absorption and Plunder the Fallen, that ability gets added to again, and Bib becomes a power hungry crazy man. Make sure you throw in Malakili (A) with some cheap creatures for Intercept or even Jabba the Hutt (C) for a free Intercept and Bib Fortuna (A) will be around for a very long time.

There are many more strategies that can be implemented using Bib Fortuna (A) and this week's preview card, Plunder the Fallen. More than I can possibly list here. Be sure to let us know your ideas in the forums.
